FAQ's


The equipment does not turn on:

1. Confirm that the equipment has power. If the equipment is using a surge protector, check that it is functioning properly.
2. There are certain surge protectors that have two separate 117 A.C. power outlets; one may not have power. Change the plug from outlet No. 1 to outlet No. 2. If this does not work, the electricity could be off for another reason. Contact technology services.
3. Some apparatus have an external power cable. The cable might be disconnected. Make sure the plug is connected to the surge protector or the wall outlet, as well as the equipment.
4. Disconnect the cable from the wall outlet and wait five seconds or more, then reconnect the cable.
5. Check the fuse box in your house to make sure it is working properly.

The AV receiver shuts off:

1. The protection circuit has been activated. Immediately, disconnect the power cable from the wall outlet or protector strip. Disconnect all the speaker cables and leave the receiver unplugged for an hour. Make sure that none of the speaker cables are short circuited or that any small wires of the cables are touching. Once you have made sure that there are no short circuits, turn on the receiver and if the circuit activates again, contact technology services.

Does not make sound or sound is very low:

1. Make sure that the correct digital source is selected. “Digital Input” should blink repeatedly.
2. Make sure the selection button for speakers A or B is blinking.
3. Make sure all the connections are firmly attached to the back of the amplifier or receiver.
4. Make sure the polarization of the cables is correct (red is positive, black is negative, connected on the side of the speaker with the same colors on the side of the amplifier or receiver) and that there are no defective wires touching the chassis of the amplifier or the adjacent connector.
5. The volume control on the receiver has a large range, designed so you can precisely adjust the volume level, so try turning the knob a few times to reach the desired volume level.
6. If the words “muting” appear on the screen, press the “muting” button on the remote control to deactivate it.
7. If headphones are connected to the receiver, the speakers do not emit sound.
8. On some DVDs you must select the audio output. If you have not done this, there will be no sound.
9. Select the “auto” digital format so the receiver selects the principal sound format of the DVD. Then select the format you’d like in the DVD menu.

Only the front speakers are working:

1. When you select the “stereo” or “mono” mode, only the front speakers and subwoofer emit sound.
2. Make sure the other speakers are configured correctly and connected.
3. Make sure the DVD format is DTS, DD, or THX. You can find the format from the principal menu on the DVD.

Only the central channel is working:

1. If you selected PRO LOGIC IIx MOVIE, PRO LOGIC IIx MUSIC OR PRO LOGIC IIx GAME as the mono source, for example an AM radio station or a mono TV program, there will only be sound in the central speaker.
2. Make sure the other speakers are configured correctly and connected.

The surround speakers are not working:

1. When “Stereo” or “mono” is selected, the surround speakers do no emit sound.
2. Based on the source and audio mode selected, it is possible that the surround speakers do not produce enough sound. Try selecting another audio mode.
3. Make sure the other speakers are configured correctly and connected.

The central speaker does not work:

1. When “Stereo” or “mono” is selected, the central speaker does no emit sound.
2. Make sure the other speakers are configured correctly and connected.

The rear surround speakers are not working:

1. When Group B speakers are working, Group A speakers reduce their sound production to 5.1 channels and the rear surround speakers do not emit any sound.
2. The rear surround speakers do not work with all audio modes. Select a different audio mode.
3. With some audio sources the rear surround speakers will not make enough sound.
4. Make sure the other speakers are configured correctly and connected.
5. Make sure the DVD format is DTS, DD, or THX. You can find the format from the principal menu on the DVD.
